First Holy Communion

Children are invited to begin preparation for their First Reconciliation and Communion in September following their seventh birthday.

The Programme runs from September to July and is based on the 'I Belong' scheme. Parental involvement is very important and each monthly session for the children is preceded by a meeting with the parents when the theme of the month is explored at an adult level. Timings for these monthly sessions and parental meetings will be detailed in the Parish Diary whilst the Programme runs.

Children who are seven years old on 31st August are invited to make their First Holy Communion the following year. Applications are accepted in September when the children should be in Year 3 in a Catholic School. Sessions are run on a monthly basis until the celebration of First Communion, usually in June.
